The Staub cast iron cocotte stores heat efficiently and releases it slowly and evenly. This makes braised meat particularly succulent and keeps vegetables flavourful and tasty. Thanks to a specially manufactured lid, the condensation is evenly distributed: this distributes the moisture in the closed pot and ensures tenderly cooked food. The lid can be lifted securely using the knob, making it easier to serve at the table.
With the high-quality steamer insert made of 18/10 stainless steel, you can cook different foods at the same time. Thanks to a thick silicone seal and the holes on the side of the steamer insert, the heat is distributed evenly throughout the casserole.

The Staub company was founded in 1974 in Alsace, France. The cast iron products are still manufactured in France today. Each product is unique and exceptional due to its traditional manufacture. The cast iron is poured into an individual sand mould, which is destroyed after casting. As a result, each product is slightly different in shape and colour and is unique. Cast iron is a high-carbon iron alloy and is one of the materials that stores heat best and releases it absolutely evenly. Thanks to its heat-retaining properties, the hob can usually be turned down to the lowest setting to gently braise the dish and save energy.
